The Lyrics Editor

Locker includes a full-featured lyrics editor built for songwriters. It supports rich text formatting, section markers, and a suite of creative tools to help you write.

Songwriter Tools

The lyrics editor includes a Songwriter Tools panel organised into three groups:

• Words: one search with three lenses. Type a word and read it as rhymes, as meanings and synonyms, or as trigger words to spark new lines
• Music: a chord transport for your sheet. Set a key, tempo and meter, build a progression, and loop it while you write. Tap the timer icon in the tempo field to tap a tempo in
• Music can give each section its own chords and play the whole song front to back, and it holds a key wheel, a library of classic progressions, and an on-screen piano
• Find chords from a melody: sing four bars after a count-in and Locker suggests chords that fit, with brighter, darker and simpler alternatives to try
• Export: download your chords as a MIDI file or a plain text chord sheet to take into the studio
• Voice: record vocal ideas directly within the lyrics editor, linked to the section you were singing

Formatting

The editor supports rich formatting including font selection, font sizes, text colors, highlighting, bold, italic, and more. Changes are saved automatically.

Multiple Lyrics

A track can have multiple lyrics documents, useful for different versions of the same song, translations, or alternate takes. One is marked as the primary lyrics for the track.
