Share Links: sending music privately
Send unreleased music by link, decide exactly what the listener can do, and switch it off later.
Sending music without sending a file
A share link lets you send unreleased music to anyone, including people with no Locker account. They open it in a browser and listen. Nothing is downloaded unless you allow it, so a link is not the same as handing over a copy of your song.
Choose how people access your music. Set download options, review listening activity and revoke the link when needed. Sharing never transfers ownership of your work.
To make one, press Share on a track, playlist, lyric, voice note or file, or press the plus and choose Share link. You decide what goes on it: a whole track (every version, Main first), one version, a playlist, lyrics, voice notes or files.
Decide who can open it
- Ask who's listening: the listener types their name before the music plays. It takes them two seconds and it turns an anonymous link into a record of who actually heard the song.
- Password: for material you do not want opened by whoever the link gets forwarded to.
For a pitch, asking who's listening is usually the right level. A password is worth it for genuinely sensitive material and is real friction otherwise, so use it deliberately rather than by default.
Decide how long it lasts
- Set the link to expire, so it stops working when you choose rather than on someone else's schedule.
- Revoke the link at any time from Shares. This is the one that matters most once music has been forwarded: a link you can switch off is the difference between a leak and an inconvenience.
Decide what they can do
- Downloads on or off. Off is the safer choice for a pitch.
- Add a short description, so they know what they are listening to.
- Apply your brand kit: your cover image, colours and links, so what lands in front of a label looks like you rather than like a file listing.
You can change downloads, asking who's listening, the password and the expiry after sending, from the link in Shares.
